Even today, the Aforementioned Terms, numbers and phrases would strike a nostalgic chord inside our minds. Good or Bad, Pleasent or Unpleasant, Satisfaction or Unsatisfaction, Cherishable or Forgettable – Such Mixed Feelings cannot erase them from our memory.

Learning – has two principal facets – To do or, not to do!, It is fact that the ultimate outcome is – We have LEARNT. Learnt from teachers: Learnt from students: Learnt from colleagues: Learnt from other Staff; Learnt from forgotten person’s live Brain and spine in variety. Learnt interpersonal relationships; Learnt – NEUROSURGERY; All of the above from MADURAI.

There would be no quarrel with the fact that we have acquired the license to practice Neurosurgery, from the Department of Neurosurgery, Madurai Medical College, for decades, way back from 1963.

When we perused a list of Neurosurgeons from Madurai, the lasting impression was astonishing and laudable. almost everybody is in a unique position, in their respective arena. Their achievements and contributions in the fieldof Neurosurgery are commendable. We have the right to be proud of all our colleagues of eminence in Neurosurgical skills, Publications, Presentations, Authorships, Prestigious offices, Organizations etc.

The time is ripe now, to Consolidate our large network of Neurosurgeons, to reflect on their roots. This nodal point has been christened as – MADURAI NEUROSURGICAL ACADEMY (an Alumni initiative) It would serve as conglomerate association of Neurosurgeons qualified from and Teachers served/serving in the Department of Neurosurgery, Madurai Medical College & GRH. It was long cherished dream, often discussed, debated, but hanged always after numerous hangover small get-togethers. We have genuinely attempted to make our dream into a reality.
